I've been living in NYC for the past month. And, I've been noticing that the newest male hipster trend is to wear short, short, short shorts. Thanks to the now-so-passé American Apparel (which, I can't deny, I love them), hipster guys are wearing short shorts like crazy! I'm not going to lie, I wear pretty short shorts to the beach; BUT, everyday? Are you shitting me? That's a little uncalled for. Let's get real: any minute these dudes' balls could pop out. Not cool. It's definitely a plausible sceneario: it's happened to me at the beach.
What do you guys think? Should this trend be picked up? Should I encourage friends to wear these? Shall I endorse them?
I most likely will wear those corduroy short shorts American Apparel has been selling. Who am I kidding?

Perhaps I need to see it in action worn in the right way. But, I certainly don't want every guy to start sporting shorts up around the thigh, ew.
I am going to have to veto short shorts for men as well - always!

Long shorts = American burqas.
First, the tight speedo look disappears. Next, the thighs disappear. After the shirtless look disappear--too many beer bellies. Then, the arms, and the rest of the legs. Finally the male body is covered from head to toe with a burqa.

I'm not "into" the NBA and I don't care what the latest "Gangsta rap" style is either. If i'm wearing shorts, I want my knees to get tan too. I have great legs, why not show them off? I know I push the limits of "socially acceptable" shorts, but shorter is more comfortable. If you don't like it, don't stare...
One reason guys' legs aren't attractive is from being forever covered up. Amazing what regular exposure will do. We're all shaped different, and the same length won't work for all guys. But the long shorts of recent years, (almost to the point of not being shorts at all) need to shorten up. Bare those legs and get some sun on them.
Oh and I might add, same goes with feet. Nothing uglier than a habitually shod foot. I'm glad flops are spreading across the nation. Bare those feet, free them from shoes except when it's cold, and consider a pedecure. There is nothing necessarily feminine or gay about this. Masculine types can do this too.
Many guys have nice legs. So shorter is better. Maybe not short short short, but definitely shorter. I'm with Cheekmonkey. I have nice legs and I dare to admit I love to show them, not to mention how good it feels to be free. Most of my shorts are hemmed so they can be adjusted shorter or longer to suit the weather and occasion.
